Dang, our developers work fast! In the last month we’ve added commenting, we’ve built a web app, we’ve given you Blog Mode, and cropping fixes. All in two months! Now, we offer you custom subdomains. Free!
What is a custom subdomain? Instead of a randomly generated URL such as http://fv.zapd.co/ you can choose the beginning of the address and have something like http://sunset.zapd.us/. Neat!
Like last time, this new feature can be found in our web app via our home page now and will be available on your iPhone in about a week.
Here’s how the web app has changed:
To choose your own subdomain name, click the “Change URL” button. A window will pop up:

Great! Do you now have a means to retrieve a forgotten log-in pass word. If not perhaps that should be on the developers to-do list

I changed the URL for the above site to charlie.zapd.net, but it’s still at 1rqj.zapd.co. Does the switch over take some time? When I tried to change the URL again I noticed that charlie.zapd.net was no longer available as an option, so maybe something’s happening.
By the way, how do I change my sign-in email address?

Thanks for getting in touch! You will need to publish your site after choosing your subdomain to permanently grab it. We are working on changing the verbage to make this more clear. I’m going to send you an email so that we can get a dialogue started between you and our developers! We’ll get you sorted.
By when it will be possible to post videos rather photos?

Hey guys. My prob similar to Jeremys. Every new zap I create makes up it’s own new name even though I have grabbed and published sweetfelicia.zapd.info. Also it has seemed to delete the named website and only uses the generated name? Can youbhelp?

Each Zap that you publish is its own website. To update sweetfelicia.zapd.info, you’ll need to select that Zap from your list, add your new content and publish it.

so, each of my zap needs a custom url?? does not make sense..cant there be one URL for all my zaps and people who subscribe to it get alerted when a new zap is posted

When we first released Zapd, it was all about creating a website in 60 seconds. Each time you wanted to share content, you could do so in the form of a unique website and tell your story by adding text and links. We’re now working on making Zapd fully interactive by adding notifications for Zap followers whenever you update. Baby steps

Hi, my name is Reuben and i just want to say how mich i enjoy your app!!!!!! Its amazing and better than some you can make on PC. My website is “http://bonnyislobrule.zapd.net” I am very proud of it and blown away i made it on my iPhone. Although recently I have had some problems, whenever I go to use the app, it will start up and say it is syncing at the top and then the app crashes and closes. My iPhone is an iPhone 3GS running iOS 5.1. Please could you E-Mail me back with some advice, my e-mail adress is reubenbooster@gmail.com.

Hi Reuben! Thanks for the kind words! Once you update your iOS, you’ll need to update the app as well. Version 1.8.2 is currently available and does not crash on signin.
