The perfect combination of live music, clear skies, and the great outdoors spells out the components for a coveted summer pastime. The epic 1969 Woodstock festival may have started the tradition of bringing several thousands of spirited music lovers together. Since then, numerous large-scale outdoor music festivals are annually scheduled each summer. Last month Coachella kicked off the outdoor concert season in Indio, California bringing in over 75,000 attendees. Coachella (Indio, CA): The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual three-day festival featuring rock, indie, hip-hop, and techno music.

 

SXSW (Austin, TX): South by Southwest features a collaboration of film, music, and interactive festivals that take place every Spring.

 

Bonnaroo (Manchester, TN): The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is an annual four-day music festival presenting a variety of musical styles including indie rock, hip-hop, jazz, and bluegrass.
